OUR FACULTY

Director

Mrs. Anderson 2024.JPG

I have been with Shepherd of the Valley Preschool since 2012 as an assisting teacher and have been the Director since 2022.  I have worked in all of the classrooms as an assisting teacher in the 3s, 4s, and Pre-K.  We have so much fun in all of the classrooms and the children brighten every day.  You never know what they are going to say or do...no two days are ever the same!

I love that we are a traditional Preschool and get the opportunity to provide the children that enter our doors with an excitement for going to school.  We are honored to share our love for learning with them and blessed to join our preschool families in the beginning of their child's educational journey.

Lead Teacher AM

I am blessed to have cared for and educated little ones for over 20 years and have been working at Shepherd of the Valley Preschool since 2012.  I love the close family atmosphere here... between the staff, the children, and the wonderful families.

We have so much fun in the 3s classroom learning while we play!  I am thankful to be a part of the smiles, joy, and laughter of the children every day and grateful to be able to share my love of learning with the kids.

Two of my children attended preschool at SOV and had an amazing start to their educational journeys.  I am excited that I get to continue to provide the same opportunity for the children that come to our preschool!

Mrs. Hutton

Hi Everyone! I am a Boise Native. I graduated from Borah High School and received my Early Childhood Education degree from CWI.

I have been teaching preschool for eight years and have
loved every minute of it! This is my first year at Shepherd of the Valley Preschool and am so impressed with the school, teachers, and families. It is such a great community here!

I have been married to my amazing husband for 21 years and we have four wonderful children. I enjoy being with my family, reading, watching movies, baking, playing board and card games, traveling, and going to restaurants.

Mrs. Hickcox

Assisting Teacher AM

Hi!  My name is Laura Metzler Hickcox.  I have always had active jobs working closely with others and decided working at SOV Preschool was the perfect spot for me.  I have worked here since 2019.

I have assisted in all of the classrooms and love every age group.  My favorite part of working with kids is having fun with them and seeing them grow and learn to believe in themselves... it is such a beautiful thing to be a part of.

Some of my favorite things in life besides my family and my friends of course are dogs, bicycling, reading, cooking, plants, live music, pajamas and the beach.

Mrs. Gordon

Hello, my name is Patsy Gordon! I am excited to be an assisting teacher at Shepherd of the Valley Preschool. This school holds a special place in my heart, as all three of my children attended preschool here.

I have a passion for working with young children and love helping them learn, grow, and explore the world around them. My goal is to support both the teachers and students in creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. I believe that every child deserves a space where they feel safe, encouraged, and inspired to discover new things.

I am looking forward to being a part of your child's early learning journey!

Miss Johnson

Assisting Teacher PM

This is my first year teaching at SOV Preschool; however, I was a student here at the preschool when I was 4 years old!

When I am not teaching, I love to travel, bake, read, and write. I also love listening to music and am currently learning how to play the piano.

My dream is to travel and teach all over the world.
